Tangela Hampton Sylvie is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Grambling State University.  She began her teaching career at Cherokee Park Elementary School in 1996 as a 4th-grade teacher.  She quickly moved up as a Mentor Teacher being one of the first teachers in Caddo Parish to train using the TAP model and later promoted as the Instructional Coordinator.

Principal Sylvie enjoys spending time with her family.  She credits God and the support of her family for her success.
